Ashland has an excellent opportunity for a FP&A Specialist – LATAM to work in a hybrid format at our office in SÃO PAULO, SP.

Your main responsibilities will be:

The FP&A Specialist will support the Latin America region, with a strong focus on cost, margin, and profitability analysis, as well as core planning and forecasting activities. This role partners closely with the Regional Manager, along with commercial, supply chain, and cost accounting teams, to deliver financial insights that support pricing decisions, profitability improvement, and broader business decisionmaking. The position combines FP&A and cost expertise, requiring strong analytical and communication skills to translate financial data into actionable insights for the business. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support FP&A processes, including monthly performance analysis, forecasting, and management reporting for the LATAM region. 

  • Analyze variances and provide clear, insightful commentary, including bridges that explain volume, price, cost, and foreign exchange impacts. 

  • Support pricing and commercial decision-making by providing cost transparency, profitability analysis, and scenario evaluations for customers and products. 

  • Partner with cost accounting to review and validate product cost structures, cost components, and manufacturing inputs to ensure accurate margin reporting. 

  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities with a focus on gross profit performance, identifying key risks and opportunities impacting margin, volume, and pricing. 

  • Analyze slowmoving inventory trends and monthly movements, investigating variances and key drivers to support informed commercial and operational decisionmaking. 

  • Partner with the commercial team to develop CapEx analyses and financial business cases, supporting growth initiatives and investment decisions. 

  • Participate in regional FP&A initiatives, ad hoc analyses, and cross-functional projects supporting the LATAM commercial strategy. 

  • Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety 

 

Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. 

  • Experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, FP&A, or similar roles. 

  • Experience supporting multiple countries or business units (preferred). 

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly desirable. 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. 

  • Solid understanding of cost accounting concepts, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances. 

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling. 

  • Experience with Power BI (preferred). 

  • Experience with SAP or another major ERP system ( or strongly preferred). 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both local and regional stakeholders. 

  • Strong attention to detail and process oriented mindset. 

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. 

Language Requirements 

  • Portuguese: Fluent 

  • English: Advanced 

  • Spanish: Intermediate (preferred, not )
